Cabrini High School Students Join the Great American Clean-Up

Students in the environmental science classes at Cabrini High School, New Orleans, participated in the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation’s Spring Sweep as part of the Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Clean-Up.  The purpose was to help the Foundation continue its efforts in saving Lake Pontchartrain. The students picked up trash all around the bayou.  They filled five garbage bags with paper and plastic wrappers, wire, bicycle handlebars, cigarette butts, glass bottles, aluminum cans, even a plastic car fender.  The students estimate that they picked up 19 pounds of trash and had fun doing it!
