Working with the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at an orphanage in the rural loveld of Swaziland makes one remember and appreciate the early work of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini. The children and staff were so welcoming that I felt at home and knew that they embraced and lived the mission of Mother Cabrini. In only a few short days they touched my heart and I hope I touched theirs. The slower pace and lack of technology allowed me “live in the moment” and remember and witness that the Cabrinian spirit is a way of life and I am part of something special. The Cabrini family is world-wide and we sometimes forget that.
