Mother Cabrini on the Virtue of Hope

Faith should engender hope, which is simply confidence in Jesus; confidence by which we expect from Him all the graces necessary for our sanctification and for the eternal possession of Him in heaven.  Hope multiplies strength a hundredfold.  It anticipates difficulties but is not dismayed by them because it knows that with God it can do all things, and so it repeats: “I can do all things in Him who strengthens me.”
