Justice Matters: People, Planet and Profit

Dr. Erin McLaughlin and Professor Ann Servey lead a business oriented ECG 200 course called,  People, Planet and Profit.  One of the Engagements with the Common Good courses,  this course introduces the concept of instituting change through business. In the course, students develop outreach projects in local, national, or international communities.  The student-designed projects are intended to improve the quality of life and standard of living for those with limited resources.  In developing the projects,  students consider the relevant economic, social, and environmental factors and apply an entrepreneurial approach within the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) model.   The projects address a variety of social issues, including environmental awareness, financial literacy, hunger, and HIV/AIDS in Swaziland.
