Humility

Mother Cabrini on Humility:

“Humility is the foundation of every meritorious and virtuous work and of prayer.  It is impossible to please God without humility… Chase away all sentiments of pride and self-love if you want God to be with you. God will be our strength, and if we are humble our prayers will ascend, like a sweet perfume, to the throne of Heaven, where they will be fully granted. The humble Religious is like a bunch of Spikenard, which, though the smallest and humblest of flowers, is one of the most fragrant.”                                              Genoa to New York – September, 1894
